Corona Virus

Many of massage therapists, hair dressers, and estheticians have lost their income and therefore their means of financial support for themselves and their families.  The chaos, stress, depression and  anxiety is indescribable and long term.  Many of us may not be able to reopen once this is over due to financial issues.  I ask you not only for myself but for other providers of these services to purchase gift certificates which in NH never expire and/or book an appointment for a month or six weeks in the future. These appointments can be changed if you are not comfortable at the time of the appointment.  In the mean time, it will give us hope that our financial situations will recover and some new normalcy will be created.  Hopefulness is a powerful state of being.

I have reopened my massage practice with much greater time between appointments to allow for disinfection of the massage room.

Disinfection Practices for Corona Virus and other germs and viruses

For the past 17 years that i have been licensed and practicing massage, I disinfect the massage table, head and arm rest using 70% isopropyl rubbing alcohol after each and every client. I mix this with water to the CDC recommended ratio of water to alcohol. The 70% alcohol is very important because it is mixed with water at the manufacturer which  acts as a catalyst and has a major role in denaturing the proteins of cell membranes of vegetative cells. That is, the water opens the cell membranes so the alcohol can easily kill the cell. It also slows the evaporation rate allowing the alcohol time to do its job.

I am adding a medical grade air purifier that filters out 99.9% of particles down to 0.1 micron.

New State Mandated Policies in place include:

*Not only changing the sheets after every client but changing and laundering the blanket used after every       client.

*Disinfecting all non-porous surfaces with CDC approved disinfectants.  Table, headrests, the   massage room door handles, oil bottle and oil heater, folding metal client chair, clothing hooks on wall and therapist stools,

*I will be changing either my apron or my shirt between each client.

*Your hands will be disinfected upon arrival into the office.

*Face masks will be required for both of us through out the massage.  The state has provided to  me free of charge masks that will be available to you use or you may provide your own.

*You will need to wait in your vehicle until I call you to come into my office. No waiting room       will  be available.

*If possible, payment should be made with PayPal or Zelle. This is to eliminate my touching   your credit card, cash or check. I will accept all payment methods.

*I will ask you  corona virus screening questions prior to your appointment regarding your     health.

*If you are comfortable, I would like to leave the massage room door open about 8-12 inches during the massage and have a fan turn on to improve air circulation.  While you are changing, both at the beginning and end of the massage, the door will be fully closed for your privacy.

*The salon itself is disinfected according to state law including bathrooms.

*I will probably have you enter and leave through the back employee entrance to shorten your walk into my room and avoid  walking through the salon.  That entrance faces Fox Street and is next to the red dumpsters.   We like our entry decor to be memorable!  :)

There maybe other requirements not listed here depending on what the states ever- changing and final requirements are. I also do not know for how long these requirements will be in place.

Thank you.  We are all in this together, be patient.
